012: Geek out on the lawn
May. 10th, 2010 04:05 pm[Raz was a little bummed at first when he found the large box addressed to him sitting at the mailbox. It was far too big for it to be one of his powers, but
but
comic books.
Now he's lying on his stomach in the yard outside his house, the box on its side and its contents spilling out: dozens of issues of a particular magazine entitled True Psychic Tales, with brightly-colored covers depicting various secret agent-types performing daring feats such as battling sea monsters, outsmarting evil geniuses, and saving the planet from alien invasions. The captions on the covers boast "Over 30 pages of full color excitement!!" and ask "Are YOU psychic? Take our quiz to find out!"
He's completely engrossed, but if you asked he would happily let you borrow a few, if only so he could have somebody else to talk about how totally awesome issue #254 was with that cliffhanger ending!!]

[Raz digs around in the pile and produces a seemingly random issue. He offers it up to Spy, and finally notices his terrible tan. And snerks.]

Date: 2010-05-13 01:21 pm (UTC)Eet comes from a particular aspect of my current employment. Unavoidable, but generally unnoticeable. Unless I am without my mask.

Date: 2010-05-13 04:27 pm (UTC)Jeez, did you, like, wear it in your off hours, too? Or did you just work in a desert?

Date: 2010-05-13 05:48 pm (UTC)[He might as well stay here. Perhaps being out in the sun will start to get rid of his tan, after all. He sits cross-legged and awkward, picking through the piles and piles of comics with only vague interest.]
Are zhese really true or is zhe name just an exercise in irony?

Date: 2010-05-11 08:23 am (UTC)...Sasha did not take down two kraken. He took down...one. And it was a special mission that he spent forever preparing for. [but she realizes that if she says much more she's going to ruin Razputin's enjoyment and so she clams up and tries to point out the lesser known agents, usually as two bit characters running around in the background.]
That agent? In the blue? He was one of the greatest when I was in Whispering Rocks.

Date: 2010-05-11 07:35 pm (UTC)Well, the issue before that had a giant, telekinetic squid, so I bet they just changed the story a little so it didn't seem that repetitive, ya know?
[Points to the agent in question] You mean this guy? Did he really take down that Canadian drug cartel all by himself? I bet he was a great counselor!

Date: 2010-05-12 05:36 pm (UTC)Instead she bemusedly shakes her head, plopping down on the grass next to Raz.]
Indeed, darling, indeed. Can't miss anything now, can you, Razputin?
[she ruffles his hair before hugging him close.]
Of course he did. He wasn't a good counselor though, he was always away on missions. But when he taught, he was brilliant!
